What can I wear on my feet?
Members are required to wear clean shoes on the circuit. These are shoes that have not been worn outside, as dirt and gravel are hard on the machines and snow or rain can make them dangerous as they become slippery. No exceptions are permitted.

What if I forget how to use the equipment?
We want you to get maximum benefit from your workouts. On the occasion we may remind you about best/proper use of the equipment. PLEASE DO NOT BE OFFENDED. We are here to help you. Be sure to go as fast as you can on the machines (unless specified) and simply use the recovery stations for just that ... "Recovering".

What should my target heart rate be?
It is critical to your success that you take your heart rate each time the cue tape tells you to do so. You should always be working out in the 60-70% rate. Maintain the heart rate that is explained to be that for your age and fitness level for optimum results. (Trust us on this one.. we know it works). If you are pregnant or have other medical conditions we will discuss with you where you will be on the heart rate chart, but generally this would be 50-55%. Never run, jog or step on or off the boards. That is how injuries occur.

What happens if I cannot work out due to medical reasons?
Anyone requesting that her membership be placed on hold due to a medical reason will be given 3 business days to submit a written doctors note to the club. (This may be faxed to us). If a written doctors note is not received by the 3rd business day after the request, we will assume there is no longer a need for a hold and your check draft will be processed as regularly scheduled. All doctors notes expire in 60 days unless specified otherwise in writing by the doctor. Holds will NOT be backdated. If you need a medical hold you must inform us as soon as you know you have to go on hold.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations are permitted for the following reasons:
1. Three day cool down period. Any member may cancel her membership for any reason within three business days of joining. A written notice must be mailed/faxed/dropped off at the club and a full refund will be returned to the member within ten days of receiving the request to cancel.

2. Medical cancellation. Any member can cancel immediately with a doctors written statement that the member is permanently unable to exercise at our club.

Oops... my dues bounced or I forgot to tell you I changed banks!
On a rare occasion a member has chosen to stop payment or close her account without contacting us. When this occurs we incur a fee from our bank. If you run into financial difficulty, or choose to discontinue your membership, PLEASE talk to us before doing one of the above. We are willing to work with you on any matter that may come up. Curves charges a $20 service fee on all NSF's.
